Ejectment docket, 1796.

Record of ejectment cases heard by the court. In theory, ejectments are actions for the recovery of land possession and the collection of damages for the unlawful detention of its possession, but in practice its object is the establishment of the occupant's title to the property. Entries name defendant, plaintiff, and county. Includes date, to whom order was delivered, and when returned. Many cases labeled "Settled," "Discontinued," or "Judgment."
